Striding into the year of 2014.. a year of unlimited possiblilities and risks.

2014? How long has it been since the last update? Updates about myself:

1) I am married with her since last year January. Yup the very same girl I was with since 2008. Something about her.. A typical Scorpio who is very steadfast and loyal in love, she can be quite a possessive and easily jealous one; something that I like though. Compatibility between the Gemini me and Scorpio her is really bad (seen the online astrology reviews.. haha).. but we are doing our best to make it work out.

2) I have been doing a job as a restaurant manager at a Japanese BBQ house. For a straight consecutive 4 years and 4 months. 4 split shifts per week. Learnt a lot during this period, in terms of customers handling, proper care and service, staff management, schedule and budget planning. Anyway I resigned and now chose to take up the job as a buyer who negotiates prices with vendors from China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Basically dealing with electronic components. It would be a stark difference from what I did in the past. A risk that I am willing to bet on. I will also be enrolling into SIM this year taking up Business Administration too.

3) I am currently looking into Forex indicators that can work over the long term. Seeing how things work out now...

Been a long time..

Woah..It has been eons since i last sat down and typed an entry like this. Im in the office now by the way. ;)..Anyway, quick updates about myself.

1) im currently working as a temporary assistant at Building and Construction Authority. Bear in mind, its a governmental agency, and so.. the pay is actually quite..erm.. :D.. however, i find the environment quite cosy though. After all, its not a place whereby people compete with each other to scramble to the top. Everyone does his/her part of work and knocks off at 6 sharp. Simple eh? Moreover, once in a while, i get to hv superiors treating us to lunches at Secret Recipe. For which i would seriously qiao1 my boss hard and good.

2) if u alrdy know, im still waiting for this year's Uni application results. Im applying to get into Business UOL in SIM. Wish me luck guys.. have alrdy wasted one year due to a lack of financial capability.

3) ive gotten myself a sweet girlfriend. Though we may be at loggerheads and quarrel at times, its through these times that forge our bonds and love better. We've been ongoing for 5 mths, coming to 6. i love her.

im gonna make my mark someday...

Screw those reckless drivers

Today while returning to office from lunch, my colleagues and I had to cross a particular stretch of road. When it was safe to walk, I started to cross. Suddenly there was this white van driving at gear 3 speed, turning in towards me. I didn't care a fark abt the fast-moving van and continued to walk across.

The farking van just had to stop right before me.

Just when I almost reached the other side, the van driver was quite impatient already. He honked his bloody horn at me, to which I didn't care a hoot and continued to take my time to walk.

He thinks his horn sounds good?

I tell you, even a big lorry has to show condescension to us pedestrians, let alone this van. On the road, pedestrians ARE the biggest. What's the purpose of a driving license? It's to prove the driver is able to drive competently and SAFELY! In this instance, the van driver has failed the latter.

Terribly.

It was afternoon time when I reached St. Steven's Church. Went for the 6 o'clock mass which lasted half an hour. Its been ages since I last went to one. Indeed very regretful that I've missed so many sessions.

Perhaps its high time that I recollect my faith. Ah Gong would be happy to see this..

Soon, it was time to leave the Church. My father and I personally came to Ah Gong's side to have a word with him. Tomorrow I could not see Ah Gong to the last moment- my aunts and father had insisted that I stayed at home for my 21st birthday. Anyway, dunnoe if i heard Jay Chou's San Nian Er Ban too much, this particular sad tune at the part when he purposely misses the ping pong ball and the touching flashbacks of all of his past memories when he was young, stirs up my previous memories with Ah Gong.

I rmbed the time when I was in primary 4, I received the Singa Award for being the most courteous in the class. I showed the certificate to Ah Gong when I reached his house in a schoolbus. He let out a slight chuckle. Ah Gong did not utter a word as he was a man of few words. He picked up his wallet which was by the bed. He took out 2 ten-dollar notes.

To me, he said in a heartwarming manner, "Chris, go buy what you always wanted to buy. Keep working hard."

Those were the words that I remembered till today. Will never forget them...

Tears rolled down my cheek as I listened to San Nian Er Ban again...

"Ah Gong' s situation getting worse..doctor suggests gathering all family members around him..." This was the SMS I received from my aunt. For the first time, fear was instilled in me. He was still in quite a stable condition in the morning when I visited him.

Now this?

When we reached the hospital, red eyes were all I saw as far as I could remember. My relatives were tearing in sadness. It was then I knew from my uncle. My paternal grandfather had passed away.

In a most peaceful manner.

He wasn't smiling..it was that very natural and composed expression on his face...

He has departed to be with Lord in Heaven. I should be happy for him... but whenever i think of the fond memories I had with Ah Gong, there comes up a surge of overwhelming sadness in the heart...

And it just hurts...

......




Ah Gong... Rest in peace..

from now on, I shall adapt a writing style with the above format.

it has been mths since I orded. I've just received my ICT call-up notification.. MINDEF is particularly efficient in this. so fast! I still wish to keep my hair.. =/

side-track to my academic side, kl informed me he has alrdy received the date of the enrolment talk. dats pretty fast. I haven't made my payment yet..in fact, I extended the date of payment 2 times alrdy. Hope to be able to make it by this Friday.. or else I would have to wait till next year's Jan intake. I don't have the mood to slog my guts out for another close-to-half-a-year period.
